If you are there on a Wednesday or Saturday in the summer at 9:30 pm or 10:15 pm respectively, you’ll find empty park benches and a clear view of the Navy Pier’s fireworks display.

At the end of this park is a series of park benches facing out towards lake Michigan. It’s in the heart of the city but it is surprisingly tranquil. There is a big open area with a running track and three playgrounds. If you go to Water Tower Place in the summer there is a park located directly across Pearson street. Perhaps most iconic and memorable to children is the water fountain that is placed along the wall that is seen as you go up the escalators. There is a cafeteria on the lower floors with amazing food selections for whatever palate you or your children have. Everything from popcorn to chocolate chip cookies are sold at the Water Tower Place. Kids really enjoy the many snack offerings available at the many food vendors.
Water Tower Place is right next to the Chicago Ritz-Carlton where the rich and famous will often stay (I got married here) Water Tower Place is known for the rich and the famous who are visiting Chicago to stop by and do some shopping on their own.

Every time I visit the Water Tower Place during Christmas it is full of excitement and fun. On every floor there are a variety of shops and lights that attract all customers and especially kids. The Christmas lights are an amazing experience here at this location. There is no charge to getting inside the Water Tower Place. The great thing is that soaking in the atmosphere is free. There is so much to do and see at this magnificent shopping plaza. Christmas is the best time to take your kids to this gorgeous mall. The Water Tower Place is a beautiful place to spend time with your children during the holiday season. Either way, it’s important to put being a parent first no matter chapter of life you are in. You might be going through a divorce, considering a divorce or just have the kids for the weekend.

You’re also not limited to soda, tea, and juice. Upon entering each diner is given a plastic card, which is then swiped at each station where food is ordered, and payment is made at the exit. The quality and variety of the food would be enough to separate it from your standard mall fare, but foodlife goes a step further with its payment procedure. Of course you can also get burgers and barbecue and pizza. At the stir-fry bar fill a bowl with veggies and pick a sauce ala Flat Top Grill. The health-conscious can visit the juice bar, and Cooking Light Magazine has a kiosk featuring balanced options. You can get comfort food, pasta, Mexican, soup, and salad. Not on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, anyway.įoodlife is tucked into the mezzanine level and consists of 13 kitchens, each serving a different cuisine. The upscale shopping plaza has the requisite collection of inexpensive restaurants in one location with shared seating, but you won’t find an Orange Julius or a Great Steak Escape. A mall isn’t a mall without a food court, unless it’s Water Tower Place.
